A neighbor in San Pedro who found something real, vetted it himself, and decided to share it.
I'm David Newman — Eagle Scout, filmmaker, entrepreneur, San Pedro / Wilmington local. I'm not a tax professional and I don't work for ACA Solutions. I came across Section 125, vetted it cover to cover, and now I make warm introductions for local businesses to the tax specialist who runs the math.
Eagle Scout — Boy Scouts of America
The highest rank in Scouting — built on integrity, service, and doing what's right. That standard doesn't end after the ceremony. It's why I read the Hitesman opinion cover to cover before I introduced this program to anyone.
Local — San Pedro & Wilmington, CA
My community. Not a call center, not a national franchise. A neighbor who found something valuable and shares it with the businesses around me — port-area trucking, harbor-area medical transport, restaurants on 6th Street and Pacific, the whole 90731 / 90744 stretch.
Referral Partner — Not a Tax Professional
I make the introduction. The tax specialist (a CPA) runs your numbers. You bring the result to your own CPA. You decide. No pressure, ever. I earn a fair referral fee for the introduction — same as every insurance, SaaS, or financial firm uses for distribution.
Filmmaker & Entrepreneur
LA-based with deep roots in the local business community. The filmmaking work is what brought me into the orbit of business owners across industries — and what gave me the perspective to recognize that Section 125 was something genuinely valuable rather than yet another sales pitch.
Why I'm bringing this to you
I came across Section 125 while researching cost-saving strategies for local businesses in the Harbor Area. What I found surprised me. Real companies with real W-2 employees were saving six figures a year on something most owners have never heard of — legally, mechanically, at zero cost.
The first thing I did wasn't pick up the phone. It was sit down with the documentation. I read the Hitesman legal opinion cover to cover — all 8 pages. I read the CBIZ Advisors LLC review letter. I looked up IRS Revenue Ruling 69-154 myself and verified the payroll math line by line.
The Eagle Scout in me required knowing it was real before putting my name on it. It's real.
What I actually do
My job is the warm introduction. When you book the free 15-minute analysis call, you're talking to a CPA at the tax specialist firm who runs your exact FICA and Workers' Comp savings number live. No pitch, just math. You bring the result to your own CPA — exactly as the CFOs, CPAs, and attorneys in our case studies did before signing.
I stay in the loop on every milestone, but I don't handle implementation. The plan administrator team handles plan documents, payroll integration, employee enrollment, nondiscrimination testing, and ongoing compliance. I'm the introduction; they handle the rest.
How I think about this
I've been around enough “too good to be true” pitches in my career to know what one looks like. This isn't one. It's a 47-year-old federal tax structure (since 1978) with a top-7 U.S. accounting firm verification (CBIZ, August 2025) and an 8-page legal opinion from a Super Lawyer-rated ERISA attorney (HitesmanLaw, May 2025). The math is mechanical. The savings are on the public record from real operators.
My promise: I'll only bring this to businesses I genuinely believe will benefit. If you call me and your headcount or industry mix doesn't fit, I'll tell you straight — there's no version of me dragging an unqualified business through the analysis call. The Eagle Scout standard means something to me, and so does my reputation in this community.
